Description
The Morita Jalapeno (i.e., little blackberry in Spanish) is smaller than the Meco and is about the size of your thumb. The Meco is a mature but green jalapeno. It has not ripened and turned purple (Mora). When smoked it turns a brownish color. Sometimes if is called ‘cafe’ because it turns the color of coffee with milk in it. It turns purple when smoked and imparts a tobacco, chocolate flavor. This is the original “Chipotle” pepper and was smoked using cactus wood to infuse a unique Smokey flavor with a solid heat bite! Ranking a 5 on The Chile Guys 0-10 heat scale, the Chipotle is a medium to hot chile in terms of heat.
